Davis Family Reunion

The Davis Family Reunion is always a guaranteed good time. So many great people doing so many fun things! There was plenty of visiting, running around with cousins, playing soccer, swimming, going on walks, eating delicious food, but mostly we just enjoyed being with the people with love.

On our way up to Zions we stopped by Santa Clara to see Mom's college roommate, and Kristi's name sake. This is the lady we have to thank for getting our parents together

Kristi drew fabulous piece of art on cups for all the people in our room.

The whole gang. What a bunch of great looking people.

We can get a bit crazy.

I must admit that I am incredibly thrilled with how the shirts turned out.

Watching the soccer game.. It was much colder this year than it has been in the past.

Playing games

Eating Splats (an FHE favorite treat)

Grandma and the grand kids
Everybody in their Sunday best after church.

The siblings all shared memories of growing up.
This reunion was especially great because we focused on how it all began: Grandma and Grandpa's courtship. Each meal Grandma would share a story of how they met, their first date, etc. It all led up to the story of their engagement. It was so fun to watch Grandma relive those moments. It also led all the aunts and uncles to share their love stories.

That Awkward Moment When...

...you are looking through family photos and realize that the ones with funny faces/awkward poses are the best.
Since Linda, the photography guru, is still off in Peru "making money to get married" (according to Jimmy that's why she is on a mission), we have tried to be better about taking pictures more and by some miracle we even took family pictures.  Here are some of the real 'quality' ones :)
...You realize  your face is dirty just as the picture is taken

...this one just speaks for itself

... zooming in on a picture reveals faces that are quite special.

...some couples just cannot keep their eyes opened

...being awkward is caught on film

...Jimmy decided that he would finally keep he mouth closed just as we all join in the open mouth fun.

I love my family! Good thing we're stuck together for eternity.

Polar Bear Club: Round Two

Clearly with Linda on her mission, the blog is neglected.
But even with Linda gone, we still held the, now annual, Polar Bear dives on Thanksgiving and New Years.
Many new members were initiated during this second annual event.
Uncle Bill's family was visiting for Thanksgiving and many of them joined in on the dive (one of which made the swim look like a casual summer pool-time fun), as well as our good friends, Tanner and Jessie Grossman. I even participated in both dives, although I'm still certain I need to have my sanity checked on. Here are a few pictures of the momentous occasions.
The water was 52 degrees on Thanksgiving and 42 degrees on New Years (technically the day after New Years)! We are definitely a little crazy, but it was so fun!

This crazy one was in the pool for about an hour. He was enjoying the freezing water way too much.
