The Magical Forest

Julie, Nathan, and I had free tickets to the Magical Forest, so we took the kids. Although it was cold, they had a lot of fun riding the train and carousel and big slide (not pictured here, but I'm working on it).

Trains!

We thought we were going to be able to ride on the Santa Train, but by the time we got there, the tickets were all gone, so instead we took a ten minute ride around the station. The kids still thought it was cool, though.

Thanksgiving Davis Style

It seems that our family is not meant to do holidays. Last Christmas, Jimmy. Christmas before, car accident. This Thanksgiving: Amy. Pictures are worth a thousand words, so I'll let them speak for themselves.

I'm going to try this, so let me know if it works or not. Here's my photo album from Facebook. It's faster to load them all that way. You should be able to click on the link and be able to see them all.

Costumes

Our local police station had a trunk or treat where the policemen gave out candy. The kids got to see a swat car, mounted police, one of the police canines, and a tow truck.

Dreams come true

Some of our friends recently moved to Idaho, but they made some small children's dreams come true.
Apparently Jimmy has been wanting to learn to skateboard. He's not very good at staying on it by himself, but he really loves it. He's out "riding" all the time.
Kristi has been asking for a dictionary and a globe for Christmas. She got both of these wishes. I think she ended up with about six dictionaries. This one is her favorite- the UNabridged dictionary- which weighs about as much as she does.
Her globe wish got granted pretty amazingly. Check out how cool this globe is! You can't really tell in this picture, but there are the faces of explorers and the dates of their voyages. But then it gets better. When you turn the globe on, the path they traveled magically appears.
Here's ALMOST everything she got. She's very excited to get to read all of the pony books.

Thanks so much Goings family for making their month! Love you guys and good luck in Idaho.

Mom's Black Eye

Okay, here's the deal. I'm going to post just the picture first for about a month. Please comment to leave your idea/story for how this happened to Mom. Then, in about a month or so, our family will vote and the winning tall tale and the actual story will be posted. Get Creative!!

Jimmy's Wheels

Jimmy has finally decided that he wanted to learn a bike, so one day he just did it.

Slumber Party at Julie's

Julie took us to Cici's Pizza for dinner. It's a pizza and dessert buffet. Kristi thought she had died and gone to heaven since she could eat as many cinnamon rolls as she wanted.

Somehow everyone ended up in Julie's bed the next morning, even though that's not where they started.

Jimmy's a great sausage cooker.

Krisi stirring the punch

We went to the strip and saw the new display at the Bellagio Conservatory. Each season they change the flower on display. This month is Hocus Pocus (seriously). They also had several ENORMOUS pumpkins- we're talking upwards of 900 pounds.

Behind them is an "ent".

This is the other ent on display- it really freaked Jimmy out.

Since we were there for the first Bellagio Fountain display of the day, we got to see two shows- Time to Say Goodbye and The National Anthem. Jimmy thought this was really cool.

Next, we went to the Venetian to see a dinosaur exhibit.

This is one of the largest and most intact dinosaur fossils ever found.

Pine Creek

We recently did a canyoneering trip that was so good, we had to go again. But the exciting news is that the second time we got Mom to go.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House

Kristi decided that for her birthday she wanted to go to the open house (pretty deep for seven). It's an incredible temple, but is there one that isn't incredible?
