Memorial Weekend

This was a pretty crazy weekend for our family. We had our annual family reunion, which was awesome. We love spending time with our extended family. Kristianne had an especially good time. She and her cousin Chris could often be found holding hands.
Also exciting was that Dave, Julie, Megan, Linda, and Amy went on a canyoneering trip with a family friend. They hiked through Birch Canyon and risked their lives careening over cliffs (well, really just rappelling but it sounds better that way). We had to wake up at 4 am to do this hike, so the sun wasn't even up when we started. We hiked for part of it and part of it was about eight rappels. I'm not sure how it works, but I'm going to try to upload all of our pictures onto an album in picassa so everybody can see our incredible pictures.
Alright, I think I figured out how to link a photo album in Picasa. If you want to see some more pictures from this trip just click this picture.

Superstar

Kristianne has been learning a bunch of really great songs in her class. They had a special night for the parents where the kids got to sing all of their songs in a little recital and then we got to see her classroom and some of her projects.
I'll try to post a video of one of them.
Some of the songs she knows are:
Heart of My Heart
How Much is that Doggy in the Window
Yankee Doodle Dandy
The Good Ship Lollipop
Ami Ami, Futi Futi (a Japanese rain song)
Spreading the News
She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain
The Hug Song

The Chronicles of Narnia

Alright, I've just got to share this. In my seminary class this morning, my teacher brought up The Chronicles of Narnia (I don't remember why, but that's not important.) The girl behind me heaved a huge sigh and said, "The Chronicles of Narnia is totally a rip off of the Bible." I was rolling!

Shout-out to Driel

Just so you know Driel, I set this up about 5 minutes after you left. So thanks for pushing my parents in the right direction towards this. I really have been trying to convince my parents to let me start one for a while. So I tip my hat to you.

Spaghetti!!!

This story is a family favorite. A few weeks ago, Mom made spaghetti and, as usual, we had left over sauce. So she put it in a container and had it cooling on the counter. We thought nothing of it until later that Sunday afternoon, much to our surprise and nearly chagrin, Jimmy wandered into the back family room where the rest of the family was watching Robert's family videos (a favorite pastime of Mom's since he has left for the mission) :) He looked exactly as pictured here. He didn't even say anything, just stood there for a few moments waiting for someone to notice. Our first reaction was that it wasn't spaghetti sauce (use your imagination) and lept into action. Once we realized what had happened, that Jimmy had pulled over the container with the spaghetti in it hoping to find a treat, we all started laughing and I ran for my camera, thus immortalizing this moment in Davis history.
